What is Reiki?
Reiki is a Japanese-Tibetan technique, a spiritual and healing energy. It is accessible to everyone, but many have forgotten the way. Reiki translates from Japanese as “Universal Life Force Energy,” which balances our energy and brings us back to wholeness. It sustains life and promotes healing in all living things. Reiki exists within the entire universe. Reiki healers serve as channels for this spiritual energy.
Traditional Usui Reiki consists of three levels or degrees. A Reiki student is initiated by a Reiki master by way of attunements, this connects the new practioner to the healing energy. The healing energy enters the body removing energy blocks, clearing out toxins, releasing pain and stress and helps promote our bodies natural ability to heal itself. Reiki works on the body and mind, helping emotional and spiritual levels. Over time it enhances intuition, meditation and personal spiritual evolution. Reiki is not affiliated with any particular religion or religious practice.
Reiki is an ancient oriental technique that is thousands of years old. It is an effective healing modality that compliments traditional therapy and modern medicine, as well as other complimentary therapies.

I was so fortunate to be one of the Reiki Businesses invited to participate in it! Congratulations to all the Angelic Reiki Light Healing community members that did the surveys and reiki sessions with me and were a part of this ground breaking Harvard study!
It's been a long time coming, but the Reiki study I conducted at Harvard in 2015 and 2016 has now been accepted for publication in the Journal of Alternative and Complementary Medicine! This is the largest prospective Reiki study to date and hopefully will lead to more research.
A total of 1411 Reiki sessions were conducted and included in the analysis. Statistically significant improvements were observed for all outcomes of psychological and physical health, including pain, drowsiness, tiredness, nausea, appetite, shortness of breath, anxiety, depression, mood, and overall wellbeing, with moderate to large effect sizes (all p values < 0.001).
The results from this large-scale multi-site effectiveness trial suggest that a single session of Reiki improves physical and psychological health.
